Woman in my life...

Cancer is something that does claim lives, but it is only just one form of a man killing disease.
The most deadly in my opinion is apathy.
So this is an effort to FIGHT apathy, and DO SOMETHING.

Until there is a cure, there is a fight, and hope.

I dedicate my set of charms to
Margie V,
Karen C.,
Karen L.,
Stella B.,
Amy K. P.,
Jan B.
&
Kelly S.!!!!

Amber, many - TOO many - of my Comanche people and those of other tribes still believe having cancer is some sort of taboo caused by something THEY did wrong. For that reason, I have lost a number of relatives to breast cancer or other forms of cancer. I am not a very good charm-maker, but I have mine ready to mail to you & I hope you will accept them despite that. I made them with hope, with care, with love, and with the belief that projects such as this one hosted by Monica will force my people - all people - to GET CHECKED without feeling there is some stigma involved! THANK YOU for hosting the charm swap!

Thank You SOO MUCH A-D!
You are SUCH a sweetheart!
I HOPE that with this history in your family you are taking care of yourself, doing regular self-exams and getting your yearly mammogram.

THANK YOU!

My charms are almost finished and i just came on to see if you had posted pictures of anymore and read your post...With all the focus on breast cancer survivors, I think so many people forget that women are still dying...I know, I lost my mom who was 54 in 2002 after a long harrowing fight with the disease...I am still sad every day and missing her like crazy...this cause is a great one..I wish they would hurry up and find a cure, darn it!
